I’m sure most of you will agree with me that no matter how much someone likes their home, they feel the need to make subtle changes in the interior for the sake of change. I feel the same way. My home is where I’m comfortable and find peace and quiet. However, adding a detail or altering the interior make the place look a bit different and interesting. What’s more I like to make unique updates so my home keeps its distinctive appeal.
Over the years I have tried my best to collect ideas for upgrading my home the easy way and now I’d like to share like 14 with you.
- Paint a piece of furniture – it’s easy and it’s fast. However, you have to be experienced in those things. Otherwise, you might find yourself in big trouble! If you feel you lack the necessary experience just hire someone or ask a friend or relative to help you with the project.
- Hang wind chimes – I must admit I’m a great fan of these melodious accessories. I have always wanted to have a home full of them. I like it when the breeze from outside runs through my home and creates almost a perfect symphony…
- Use memorabilia – using treasured objects to adorn a home is not only for girls. Boys use it, too. This brings precious moments in front of you every day and personalizes your home.
- Mirrors – if you want more light inside using mirrors is one of the best options to achieve it. Mirrors add and spread light in a home.
- If you don’t like a detail simply mask or hide it.
- Use vintage accessories to liven up the space Or go for country chic accessories to mimic the rustic, vintage vibe.
- Make a little garden – if you live in a house with garden, you can add new flower beds and garden furniture. Alternatively, attach a plant box to your windows.
- Spruce up your closet.
- Cut flowers from the garden for each room of the house.
- Whenever you get tired of your upholstered furniture colours use slipcovers to change colours!
- Don’t put too complicated window treatments. Sometimes the simplest things bring the most joy and excitement.
- Friend of mine painted his place green because he wanted to feel as though living in a tree house.
- Set up an outdoor space. If you live in a house use a shed or even the garage. On the other hand, if you live in an apartment, use your balcony.
- Clean up your place. This upgrade will definitely refresh how you feel about it. If you don’t have the time, hire experts to clean carpets and upholstery.
Whenever you are bored and want to change something about your home, remember that a subtle change can go a long way. You needn’t have to spend hundreds, even thousands to achieve your goal. There are lots of inexpensive upgrade ideas around the corner.
